Umm…she didn’t actually say she was gay. The first sentences even say “Or he’s not. I don’t care.”
I loved this post. It talks about double standards, how bullying starts, how LGBT bullying even targets straight kids…it pointed out a lot issues. It also related how many of those issues probably stem from the parents, how the kids didn’t care but the parents did. Or at least that’s what I took from it. Not what you said or what people are mad at her about.
And even if he was gay, why should she hide it? Why would it be inappropriate? He wanted that to be his costume. It’s no different than a girl dressing as Batman or another male character, which I see all the time. I don’t think anything she did or said was inappropriate.
