Your Class Ring

When I was a junior in high school, my school choir went to Italy. My family didn’t have much money, but I promised my parents I’d work hard at all the fundraisers and give up the senior class trip and my class ring in order to go. Best deal I ever made. I went to New York City, Rome, Florence and Venice. The next year, we moved to a tiny town in Arkansas and the senior class trip was to Kansas City. I was the only one who didn’t go, and the only one who didn’t get a ring and I didn’t feel like I missed out on anything at all. I’ve always thought traditional class rings (which is all that was offered in my day) were ugly anyway.
